In 1931 the Empire State building was completed and construction of Rockefeller Center on Manhattan began. A gallon of gas was 10¢, monthly rent ran $15 a movie ticket was 23¢, and Al Capone was sentenced to 11 years in prison. Most importantly, and never to be forgotten, Richard Sturtz was welcomed into the world on January 16th. We’re so glad he was! Our diocese has received so much from Father Sturtz...as Priest, Teacher of seminarians, Chaplain, champion of missions, pilgrim and good friend. We thank God for you and pray that He will keep you, whose heart, hands and voice have been that of Jesus to us. God bless you on your birthday!
